Regular readers here know that I'm a fan of J.A. Konrath's mystery/thriller series featuring Lt. Jack Daniels.  You need to read this series.  Really.

The author skillfully blends blood and guts tension, chills, and murder with sly wit and often outrageous humor in high, page-turner fashion.
