Happiness is Two Warm Puppies!

After a two week delay, I was finally able to pick up Pyxi's brother, Natura, last night.  Oh, he's a handsome boy.

I took Pyxi with me to the airport.  When I brought him out of the crate, he dashed around to the end of the leash, investigating everything within reach.  She jumped out of the car, ran up and licked him on his muzzle, then dropped into play position.  Not only did she recognize him, but she clearly was happy to see him!

Last night was a little crazy because Natura just had to run around to look and sniff every corner.  I also noticed that he wants to be top dog and even went so far as to nudge Pyxi away from me when I petted her so that he could grab the attention.

I won't let that happen again.  I have two hands and can be an equal-opportunity attention-giver.

It's a little bit of a challenge to walk them.  I have to make sure that I have both of them on the left side and that we all continue with forward motion.  Otherwise, I end up tangled in leashes between the two pups.

In the house and the yard, they clearly love to chase each other and play.  I have numerous toys but a favorite game is for one of them to steal whichever toy the other currently holds.

Ha!  Natura just had the ball in his mouth.  Pyxi grabbed his collar in her mouth and led him around.

She's definitely smaller than her brother, but you wouldn't know it by her attitude.  She's as likely to be the chaser as the chasee.  I predict they'll do a good job of tiring each other out every night.

Even with all the activity, they both are real loves and enjoy cuddling with me.  I can tell by their behavior that they accept me as "pack leader".  Good thing, too!  If I wasn't established as alpha in this family, I'd be outnumbered.

Here's another shot of Natura investigating the yard this morning.

I'm not sure what Pyxi was looking for when she dug this hole, but Nat seems interested in little sister's activity.

What a joy!
